About The Athena Network
How We Got Here
The
co-founders of The Athena Network, Louise Heasman and Jacqueline Rogers,
recognised that there was a requirement for women in business that is
not currently being fulfilled. The opportunity to attend a fun,
yet focussed, networking lunch, to be trained in networking and business
skills and to be coached, mentored and trained in their business and
personal development.
Athena
Aims
-
Providing opportunities to make strategic connections with
professionals in a wide range of industry sectors.
-
Developing members' business skills through a choice of interactive
workshops and training courses.
-
Encourage women in business to inspire and support others for
greater success.
We aim to put
like-minded women together who are passionate about growing and
developing their business. Many of our members also benefit on
a personal level from the support and inspiration they get from
other members as well as from the organisation.
Training and
development of our members as well as their business is very
important to Athena. To
this end we provide numerous trainings and workshops. Some are
designed to help ladies who are new to networking, whilst we also
cater to the needs of the experienced networker! Every new
member to Athena is
automatically invited to attend a FREE New Member Training session
designed to help each newcomer to get the most from their
Athena membership.
Whether you are
new to business or have been established for a number of years, you
will undoubtedly realise how beneficial it is to build relationships
with other businesses. Athena
members enjoy the networking lunches and other events, which gives
them the opportunity to build these valuable contacts.
Increasing your database of contacts will mean you can instantly put
your hands on the right contact to help support you in business,
whether this is a supplier or a company you can work with jointly on
a project with a client of yours.
At the end of the
day, one of the main reasons ladies join Athena is to gain new business! Although we are not
a referral organisation and don't apply this pressure to our
members, business is constantly passing throughout the membership.
So if you're looking for new business plus you want to benefit from
the other aims of the organisation, them membership in Athena can
certainly help you to achieve your goals.
Where We Are Going
Developing strategic relationships with experts in the market.
Listening to our members requirements to deliver new and exciting
initiatives to ensure that the members come to regard
Athena as the premier networking and training organisation for women.

Louise Heasman
Co-founder of The Athena Network,
Louise Heasman began her business career with Barclays.
Building an impressive track record in sales and
marketing she won several awards and received
recognition from the Chairman for her outstanding
performance.
After nine years at the bank Louise
moved to take on an Assistant Director role with
Business Network International (BNI) in London and
Birmingham. Helping set up and support more than 40 BNI
networking groups over a period of five years provided
invaluable experience in helping a range of
professionals and business owners discover the power of
‘word of mouth’ marketing.
Having established her own highly
successful Harley Street aromatherapy practice during
her last year with BNI, Louise was keen to explore new
business networking opportunities following her
relocation to Hertfordshire and the birth of her first
daughter. However, existing breakfast meetings did not
fit with her new lifestyle and, keen also to meet the
needs of many other businesswomen, she established
networking groups for women in January 2005.
Louise’s vision for a networking
model compatible with the priorities of businesswomen
proved appealing to a wide market and her organisational
expertise enabled her to set up a total of 24 networking
groups within the Home Counties in just one year.
Meeting Jacqueline Rogers, an
inspirational business coach, mentor and trainer, led to
the two co-founding The Athena Network now franchising
nationally.
